So, I've started learning a word a day. Sharing it with the world and getting interested people on board to come and write a sentence/story/poem. Here are a few entries from the first word.
Senescence:
@Ajaw_
Amma, I Love You!
People come, people go.
But little do they know,
The many thoughts I would like to say.
With each passing day,
I only get lonelier with your memories, you know.
To watch you suffer, to hear you moan in pain.
Endless through day. And through dark.
I wished not, you bear again.
For senescence and struggle had left their mark
On those beautiful eyes that did spark.
They did their best to make you stay
Yet I chose to let you slip away.
Guilt floods me in silence,
As I am left to count your absence
And wonder if it would have made a difference.
Five became four
And as our lives changed forever
We swear to hold onto each other more.
For this void will be filled, never.
We cry and we wish you were here like before.
Forever grateful am I,
To all the love and kindness, You've for me.
If I'd one wish, before you said goodbye
I'd have held you tight and not let you go free.
I don't want memories, I only want you.
@keshyperion:
Only sentence,no story,poem and all. You know senescence has set in when you jump around puddles rather than jump into them.
@ShephaliBhatt:
Glory of achievements, taken away by evanescence Face's sheen, taken away by senescense Only words contained her real essence
@WordSmitish:
He had seen her at her worst,
He had seen her at her best,
He had touched the porcelain like skin,
He had run his hand through her rippling cascade of locks,
In their dreams, they had lived many lives together,
In their moments, he had seen her transformation
From a girlfriend to ‘girlfriend zilla.’
Union had not been a child’s play,
The bad hair days were just not extended to hair,
The mood swings lasted for days,
Anniversaries now were just not about a single message,
Love had to co-exist with responsibility.
From the prime of their life,
They had reached the end,
The wrinkled skin had been touched,
The frail figure had been adored,
But Senescence had not taken away
the beauty of those dark brown eyes.

Thank you :) Your contributions are welcome.
ReplyDeleteFab initiative. Could you do something about the font/highlight though. Slight readability issue.
