Peckish

@Shubhlime:
I wasn't always worried about the pecking order in corporate culture. But what took me by surprise was the peckish nature of certain people. They were always waiting to gobble the success of deserving people. The sheer gluttony of ambition laced with malice. So I started eating chocolate because I knew its sweet aftertaste would always neutralize the bitterness growing in me.

Meat on a plate,
“I wish I could have had that”,
*TING*
More meat on the plate,
*TING*
“Why am I not getting any of it?”
*TING*
“This unbearable sensation.”
Pavlov loved doing such ‘experiments’,
He thought that his Dog was peckish
and could deal with it,
But what did Pavlov know?
It was a Dog’s life after all.

"Maaaaaaaaawwww" cried the baby. Shil had been thrusted the herculean task of keeping her baby brother quiet till her mother returns. Quite simply confused coz she had tried everything since morning, she decided to use her Brahmastra. She smiled a gave her brother a peck on his cheek. It looked at her and then resumed " Waaaaaaaaaa". It was peckish and not even a peck'd help.
@KuttiJetti:
I am peckish to learn a word a day.

I was not peckish, until I saw the last home-made mysorepa in the box.

Miles away from her home, she fondly dreamt of her nani's rajma chawal.
"Famished", she thought to herself.
Reality check. Had to make-do with the rajma chawal she will have to whip up after a long day at work.
"Probably just peckish", she sighed to herself.
Her phone buzzed. 'Get home for dinner', her father ordered. Saturday, she remembered. Thought of the dreadful rajma chawal her step mother makes.
"No appetite at all", she confirmed to herself.
To her, hunger was nothing but a mere emotion.
